Borough Officials: Stocking Works II Hearing Yet to be Rescheduled
The hearing, postponed from March, was supposed to be held in April but has yet to be scheduled, according to Newtown Borough officials.
A conditional use hearing for a major mixed-use development in Newtown Borough that was postponed from February has yet to be rescheduled, according to borough officials.
In December, Borough Council opened the hearing to consider developer Allan Smith's proposal to construct 121 condos, 40,904 square feet of commercial space and below and above ground parking at the former Stockburger Chevrolet site off South State Street. The project, initially known as Stocking Works II, is now called Steeple View.
The hearing in December was continued and resumed in January. It was scheduled to continue again in February but was cancelled until March. The March hearing was then also cancelled and was supposed to resume in April.
"We are working very hard to refine our plan so that it can be the best it can be and in the course of having conversations with any number of people, we have gleaned ways in which to improve our efforts," Smith said in an email last month.

Don't know the price Michele, I don't think they're disclosing that yet as this is still just conditional use and they'll have to go through land development. A garage is not included, however dedicated underground parking is planned for the residential units.
