Culinary arts students at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology served up a five-star luncheon to lawmakers recently to underscore the importance of state investments in career training.

The lunch at the school’s student-run restaurant, Aspirations, was sponsored by Better Choices for Pennsylvania, which is calling for more investment in education.

Local school board members, county, state and federal lawmakers and job training agency leaders were among the audience treated to the five-star lunch.

They were there to discuss the impact of state budget cuts to technical education and job training programs.

Based in Warwick Township, MBIT serves students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who live in the Centennial, Central Bucks, Council Rock, or New Hope-Solebury School Districts.

Watch the video to hear from the students themselves why they chose to attend MBIT's culinary program, and to hear from area leaders about the importance of funding to support the school.
