Car Struck on First Day of School, Fraud & More

A list of recent calls Newtown Township police responded to.

 

 

Monday, August 27

A resident of Snapdragon Drive came to Police Headquarters at 1:20 pm to report that several fraudulent checks had been drawn on his bank account. The victim told the officer that the checks totaled an amount more than $2,500.  The account was closed and officers have begun the investigation with assistance from the bank.  

Tuesday, August 28

Shortly before 5 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Kirkwood Drive for a report of what sounded like fireworks or gunshots in the area. The area was checked and officers made contact with a man who said the noise may have been some juveniles shoot paintball guns to the rear of his property.

Wednesday, August 29

Police responded to a report that a stone truck has lost his load on Swamp Rd. Upon arrival the officer found employees of Eureka Quarry cleaning up the stones. Officers assisted with traffic while the workers finished the clean up.

Shortly after 3 p.m., police responded to Bucks County Community College for a report from a student that his vehicle was hit while he was in class. The vehicle was legally parked in a student lot and when the owner returned he discovered the minor damage and silver paint from the striking vehicle.  There were no witnesses to the incident. 

Thursday, August 31

A resident of Sequoia Drive called police around 6:30 a.m. to report that someone had rifled through both of his cars, which were parked in the driveway overnight. he only thing determined to be missing at this time is an I-Pod Touch valued at $300. The victim will provide the serial number for the I-Pod at a later date.  Shortly before 8 a.m., a second resident of Sequoia Drive called to report that his vehicle had been gone through overnight, but nothing was missing. None of the cars were locked at the time of the incidents.
