Classic Car Show This Sunday on State Street

The Newtown Business and Professional Association will hold its annual Antique and Classic Car Show this Sunday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Newtown Business and Professional Association will hold its annual Antique and Classic Car Show this Sunday on State Street from 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In the event of rain, the show will be held the following Sunday, July 24. But as of Wednesday afternoon, the Sunday forecast looked great. Sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-80s are expected.

The show has an open registration policy for the first 200 cars. All owners of trucks, street rods, sports, and muscle cars from 1900 to 1986, as well as antique motorcycles, are welcome to participate.

Twelve separate trophy divisions will be judged, with six based on year and the others being Corvettes, Muscle Cars, Sports Cars, Trucks, Street Rods and Special Interest. There will also be a “Best in Show” top prize. Judging will be done by owners.

Check-in will start two hours prior to the start, though pre-registration is urged. Registration is $25.

Gifts and hourly prize drawings will also be available for the duration of the show. For those looking to check out some of these special automobiles, a food court featuring Isaac Newton’s, The Brick Hotel, The Temperance House, Florentino’s and Becky’s Deli will also be open on State Street.
