Concussion Education Course to Be Held at Council Rock North
The concussion course is being offered by the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania along with the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
A free regional concussion course will be offered at Council Rock High School North this Wednesday, Feb. 13.
The course is being offered by the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania along with the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
According to information provided by Council Rock School District Head Athletic Trainer Michael Horan, the course meets the Safety in Youth Sports Act requirements for concussion education for coaches.
The two-hour course begins at 7:30 p.m. Click here to register.
Coaches, athletes, parents, school administrators, physicians, school nurses, other health care professionals, sports officials and anyone who wants to learn more about concussions can attend.
Participants will learn more about concussions, how to recognize concussion signs and symptoms and treatment for concussions. Teachers and coaches will learn how to develop or improve concussion management and prevention policies
The course is being offered as an alternative to the approved online programs offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Federation of State High School Associations and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society.
All attendees will be provided a course completion certificate to verify participation.
