Families gathered for Movies in the Park Tuesday at Linton Memorial Park.

The free movie series is sponsored each week by Newtown Borough Parks and Recreation. This week, band The End of America performed before "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" was shown.

Movies are screened Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. until Aug. 9. In the event of rain on a Tuesday, films will be screened Thursday.

There is also pre-film music performed by a variety of local artists. The music starts at 8 p.m.

July 12 The Lake House, rated PG. Music: Cowpals

July 19 How to Train Your Dragon, rated PG. Music: Brianna Nelson Keith Monacchio

July 26 Groundhog Day, rated PG. Music: Trevor Leonard

August 2 Wall-E, rated G. Music: Eco-Man

August 9 The Princess Diaries rated G. Music: The Zealots
