Free Celtic Concert Tuesday at BCCC
The concert begins 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 and is open to the public.
The Celtic band RUNA will perform a free concert Tuesday at Bucks County Community College's Newtown Campus. The concert begins 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 and is open to the public.
The college provided this description of the band: "This vocal and instrumental ensemble presents a repertoire of both highly energetic and graceful acoustic melodies. Their fusion of music from Ireland, Scotland, Canada and the U.S. gives its arrangements of traditional songs and tunes a fresh sound."
Gene Shay, co-founder of the Philadelphia Folk Festival and producer and host of The Folk Show on WXPN radio, calls the band “brilliant."
“For contemporary Celtic music at its very best, do yourself a favor and check out RUNA,” Shay wrote on the band’s website.
RUNA performed in May at the Newtown Celtic Festival.
The concert takes place in the Gallagher Room, located in the Rollins Center. The show is produced by the BCCC Office of Cultural Programming in support of the college library’s Celtic Collection. For more information, visit www.bucks.edu/cultural.
