St. Patrick’s Day is a just a few weeks away and one Newtown hotspot is going all out to celebrate the occasion by throwing a two-day festival.
The Green Parrot is hosting the Newtown Irish Festival March 16 and 17. The party will kick off at noon on Friday, March 16 and will continue through Saturday, March 17.
The restaurant plans to set up a 30 by 90 foot tent on Silo Drive, where there will be live music, dancing and special Irish fare. Dishes include corned beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie.
There will be live Irish music in both the event tent and the restaurant. Performers include The Boys of County Bucks, McHugh and O’Neill, Ray Coleman, The Naturals, and The Interns. DJ Johnny Bones will be spinning hits late night in the pub.
The event is sponsored by Guinness Irish Stout, Smithwick’s Irish Ale, Harp Lager and Jameson Irish Whiskey.
