Well Hanukkah starts Dec. 8. The Newtown Business Association calls the parade a "Holiday" parade I'm guessing to be inclusionary to all residents whether they celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah this month.

I see a menorah in the window of the Century 21 holiday float. I think they had it covered! Century 21 rocks!

Hobo is a little harsh, I thought it was really interesting, not sure about the residue down his back.

Great Parade, sure missed the New Life Christian church's animals and enthusiasm!

I'm glad that I live in a town that tries to include people of different beliefs. I'm sorry to see that there are those who aren't so welcoming.

The parade was a blast, thanks to all that made it possible.

I agee with Wiggly...it's a Christmas parade..so tired of everyone afraid to call it what it is....too much politically correct rhetoric. Never liked the term "Happy Holiday's"....it's Merry Christmas.

If you want to see more Hanukkah, Kwanza or anything else represented - then for heaven's sake, STEP UP. If you don't like something - change it. It's meant to be an inclusive event. Gosh, I'd like to see forums like this used to build up our neighbors, not tear them down. It was a great parade. My kids had a great time. I especially loved the Dogs & Cats Rule car and walkers. The doggie mascot gave out treats to the dogs! How cool is that?! Thanks to everyone who planned the event!

I think the question remains....why is it a Holiday Parade...it is Christmas. It should be titled "Newtown Christmas Parade".. It is not the Macy's Holiday Parade..it is the Macy's Christmas Parade"....come on peopl take a stand! Go Wiggles!

The Newtown Chanukah Parade is on Sunday, December 9 at 4:30 p.m. Also, FYI Jingles, you are wrong, there is no Macy's Christmas Parade, it is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Linda,,,yes you are right I stand corrected. So why is there a separate Chanukah Parade? What about the hobo...will he be there as well?
