Launch of New Borough Website Pushed Back
The new site was originally set to debut May 1 but now borough officials are saying it will be closer to June 1.
The launch of Newtown Borough's new website has been delayed for a few weeks, Mayor Dennis O’Brien said Tuesday.
In November, Borough Council approved a contract with Delaware.net to create a new website. The new site was set to go live by May 1 but O'Brien said that date has been pushed back and will now be closer to June 1.
The new site will have enhanced features that will provide the public with information about the borough, including contact information, events, calendars, agendas and meeting meetings.
There will be a “notify me” feature on the site that will allow people to provide an email and phone number so they can receive updates on topics of their interest.
A video section will allow council to upload footage of meetings and make it available for public viewing.
The cost of the site is $5,000 to launch and $1,500 a year to be maintained.
