I knew Primo was going to put someone out of business. In my opinion Lee's was the worst between Slack's, Primo and Lee's. This is not surprising.

Great Harvest Bread Co. just a few doors down from Lee's will be serving sandwiches starting March 1st.

I remember Lee's back in the early 70s they were not to be beaten, but really went down hill in the 80s. Thats what happens when you cut the taste and raise the prices.

They had so many great places for zeps and pizza, you couldn't handle them all. Really miss Dell's, Rocky's, Attillios' in Pottstown.

Lee's was the best around some years ago. When new owners took over the quality went down. They started getting skimpy with ingredients.

I agree with Dori. The quality didn't compare with other franchise locations such as the mighty Lee's Abington shop on Old York Road. For my money, the best shop in the area is Landolfi's in Yardley.

Landolfi's is across from the Wawa on Main Street in Yardley. It's a tiny shop - take out only . All the meats and cheeses are freshly sliced to order, the bread is amazing, and the service is very friendly. The pricing is terrific for the quality you receive. Enjoy!

i was in newtown on sunday 2/10 my daughter went to a b-day party at allegheny art walked around saw alot of closed stores the pizza shop that was in the 2002 movie signs is closed.

Primo's can't be beat !

Lee's was better than Slacks. Slacks was never consistent. Primo is primo. Consistent, great taste, nice variety, but pricey.

It's all about the bread.... These places have to realize that you can't toast a stale roll and expect the sandwich to taste great.... Come Monday morning get a fresh delivery.. People should have to suffer because you have left over bread from the weekend... Primos is good but Slack's will out last them just because of price...

Lees is the worst in newtown. I went there one time for dinner and waited 1 1/2 hrs for my food. They gave 4 customers their order that came in 20 minutes after me. I than asked the manager where my order was, and he said we are busy. Long story short, they never saw my order and said sorry not our fault. Would u like to reorder. If ts free since i was waiting for 1 1/2. They said they could not do that, but they would give me small fries for free. O i said and never went back.

Becky's Newtown Deli all the way!! You can keep all your chain crap hoagie places. I will stick with my mom and pop hoagie shop.

Becky's 100%, other than that..I have no idea how Lee's stayed in business for that long. Even Bagel Junction offered better hoagies. Subway came in and was far better than Lee's. Slack and Primos obviously better, but Sarcones was probably the best regarding the chains. Becky's however is my choice of all them. Like how Isaac Newtons is my choice over Applebees and Green Parrot (they aren't a chain but certainly on par to the quality of a chain...)

I do long for more a of higher quality sandwich shop, but it's hard to see customers being up for a $15 sandwich.

There ain't nothin' better than a "Sarcone Roll". That'll make the hoagie, Big Time !!!

Loved Sarcone's breads and stromboli. Used to buy it at the South Philly store when my sister still lived in Queen Village. Excellent bread and rolls. I do miss the Sarcone's here in Newtown, but they never seemed to be doing too well. Changed hands a couple of times, I think.

Thank you to the owners of Lee's for all their years in Newtown and ALWAYS supporting the community! I have went in there to ask for donations for flood victims in Washington Crossing, UM Baseball, Neighborhood Outreach foundation and other school functions and they were always supportive to us and very generious. Your community will miss you, not only for your hoagies & wings but for your kindness. I wish you well in all your future endevors.

Looks like Fresh Works is taking over Lee's spot in the shopping center. We started going to Fresh Works in Richboro once Lee's started its decline.

Primo's is the Best !
