A 48-year-old Newtown will face trial on several charges in connection with the assault of his 14-year-old daughter, Phillyburbs.com reported.

Jay Colton of Brookdale Drive in Newtown Township is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another and harassment by striking, shoving or kicking.

Colton is accused of hitting his daughter with a plastic Wiffle Ball bat after the girl refused to get up for school the morning of Jan. 30, according to Phillyburbs.com. Click here to view the full article.
