March 8: Anti-Texting Law Takes Effect

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

 

 

1. Expect it to be warm and windy today. The forecast is calling for temperatures in the upper 60s with partly cloudy skies.

2. Kindergarten registration for Council Rock School District continues today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Registration will be held at the individual elementary schools.

3. A new state law prohibiting texting while driving takes effect today. The law makes texting while driving a primary offense carrying a $50 fine.

4. There is a college fair tonight at Council Rock South from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The fair will feature 120 different private, public and vocational colleges.

5. Council Rock Education Foundation's electronic recycling drive ends Friday. The foundation is collecting electronics at district schools and the Chancellor Center. Click here for details.
