Movies In The Park Series Is Back
The outdoor film series starts June 21 at Linton Memorial Park. It will be held Tuesday evenings through Aug. 9.
Movies in the Park is back with a full slate of family friendly films this summer.
The free outdoor movie series starts Tuesday, June 21 at Linton Memorial Park, which is located at Penn Street and South Lincoln Avenue. Movies will be screened Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. until Aug. 9. In the event of rain on a Tuesday, films will be screened Thursday.
There will also be pre-film music performed by a variety of local artists. The film series is sponsored by Newtown Borough Parks and Recreation. Organizers say they selected films that they hope will appeal to all ages, although some are aimed at a teenage audience.
Here is the schedule of films and musicians to be featured:
June 21 Film: Sherlock Holmes, rated PG-13. Music: Peter Joseph
June 28 Film: Despicable Me, rated PG. Music: Thieves in Paradise
July 5 Film: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, rated PG-13. Music: The End of America
July 12 The Lake House, rated PG. Music: Cowpals
July 19 How to Train Your Dragon, rated PG. Music: Brianna Nelson Keith Monacchio
July 26 Groundhog Day, rated PG. Music: Trevor Leonard
August 2 Wall-E, rated G. Music: Eco-Man
August 9 The Princess Diaries rated G. Music: The Zealots
