New Boutique Opens in Carousel Village

Browse around Carousel Boutiques for unique gifts, home décor, jewelry, clothing and accessories from local artists and vendors.

If the vintage kiddie rides, artisan ice cream, pumpkin patch and antiques aren’t enough, there’s new reason to head over to Carousel Village in Wrightstown this fall.

It’s called Carousel Boutiques, a cute shop in the old stone farmhouse filled with an eclectic mix of home décor, clothing and accessories. It opened in June and offers unique gift items like pottery, mosaics, purses and jewelry -- some of which are hand made by local artists.

“There‘s something for everyone, with both affordably-priced and higher-end items,” said co-owner Leigh Edelman. “It’s not a big box store; we think we’ve created the kind of shop you want to browse around and get lost in for a little while.”

You can also get pleasantly lost outside the shop. Carousel Village has long been a popular destination, one that Bowen and Edelman believe will be reinvigorated by stores like theirs and OwowCow Creamery.

“It’s a really nice setting. The farmhouse is charming and has a lot of character,” said co-owner Donna Bowen. “People like the space so much that we’ve started renting it out for private parties.”

Part of the shop’s charm comes from its meandering rooms, each with its own feel thanks to the co-op of 14 different vendors who supply the merchandise.

“There’s a lot of diversity inside, and we‘re all rooting for each other,” said Edelman, also an interior designer. “It’s fun to browse because each room is like its own little store. I’m having a great time decorating the space.”

“We figured we’d work out the kinks over the summer while a lot of people were on vacation, but we’ve actually been pleasantly surprised by how well it’s going so far,” said Bowen. “Business has been much better than we anticipated.”

Carousel Boutiques is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Find them on Facebook or call (267) 491-5019 for more information.
