Newtown Brewfest Tickets Available

The Newtown Original Brewfest 2012 will be held at a new location this year.

One of Newtown’s two popular beer festivals has a new home.

On Saturday, October 20, the Annual Newtown Original Brewfest will be held at the Newtown Athletic Club.

Holding Brewfest at the NAC, as opposed to the Newtown Swim Club, will offer attendees both indoor and outdoor tastings, two live music performance stages and more, organizers said.

General admission tickets to the fest cost $40. If you are a designated driver, a ticket will cost you $10.

If you are willing shell out $70 for a VIP ticket, you will get access to a private section at Brewfest that will allow ticket-holders to sample gourmet specialty beers, an extra hour to sample all beers, food ticket voucher and free t-shirt.

Organizers report that ticket profits from the seventh annual festival will benefit the marketing of Newtown and economic development opportunities.

Tickets can be purchased by going to Etix.com and searching Newtown Brewfest.

More information on Brewfest can be found at AllAboutNewtown.org.

Just weeks before Brewfest, the fire association will be holding Newtown Beerfest 2012 at the Stocking Works Complex.

The fire co. Beerfest uses the $ for their truck fund, and they donated $ for beautifying State St. (see pretty flowers in tree wells in the biz district :) ) plus a donation to Newtown Historic Assn, and to the Newtown Library.

The Newtown Brewfest, which was originated by the Newtown Corporation, is the primary fundraising effort for the organization. The funds go towards marketing all of Newtown via their website www.allaboutnewtown.org, and other print and online media. Also, the Newtown Corp financially supports the Newtown Holiday Parade, First Night, First Fourth, local charitable and Church groups, markets events and promotions any local business wishes to promote. A few years back, the Newtown Corp spent funds to landscape the tree wells along State St with new flowers and mulch. It also donates funds to the Newtown Library. For more of what the Newtown Corp does and see a calendar of current happenings in Newtown visit their website at www.allaboutnewtown.org.
