Newtown police responded to a trashy call behind the Village at Newtown South Shopping Center on Friday.

Officers received word that trash dumpsters behind the shopping center had been overturned at 8:50 p.m. A caller reported that several youths were seen in the area just before the incident, police said.

Responding police found three dumpsters overturned and a downed construction fence at the site of the Sarcone’s Deli fire.

The caller told police that the juveniles seen loitering in the area headed toward Council Rock High School North.

Patrol officers remained in the area of the shopping center to discourage teens from loitering.
