Officers from Newtown Township have been probing reports of a suspicious masked person in the area near the Providence Court cul-de-sac.

The suspicious subject is described to be tall, dressed in black and wearing a white mask, police said.

Police reported Tuesday night that a subject has run away when approached.

So far, police have received information that the masked subject has been spotted in the wooded area behind the neighborhood and in the retention basin.

Officers have not located the subject as of Tuesday night and are asking residents to keep an eye out for the person.

Police warned in a Facebook post that residents should not "attempt to identify the person yourself." Instead, they should call 911.

Those with non-emergency information on the incident should contact the police tipline, 215-504-2201.
