In just one hour Saturday, Newtown Township police pulled over three drivers suspected of driving under the influence.

The three incidents all occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. Saturday on the Newtown Bypass.

Here are the details, provided by Newtown Township Police Department:

• At approximately 12:10 a.m., an officer patrolling in the area of the Newtown Bypass observed a motorist who was approaching the bypass from Woodbourne Road travel through a steady red light.  The motorist was stopped and the driver, who was an 18-year-old Newtown Township resident. He was taken into custody and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center, where he submitted to a blood draw before police took him home. Charges of DUI are pending the results of the blood results. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Around 12:45 a.m., police stopped another motorist on the Newtown Bypass due to a motor vehicle violation and determined that the driver, a 20-year-old Newtown Township resident, was driving while under the influence alcohol. He was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center for a blood draw, and was released at his residence, pending charges. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Around 1 a.m., police arrested a third motorist on the Newtown Bypass after receiving a report of a one-vehicle traffic accident near Campus Drive. The driver was asleep in his car.  The responding officer made contact with the driver, a 34-year-old Morrisville man, and determined that he had consumed alcohol before driving. Charges are pending the results of blood work.
