Police Suspect Alcohol to Blame in Wednesday Car Accident
Plus a black sports equipment bag was left at Helen Randle Park on Tuesday.
Newtown Township Police were dispatched to Stoopville Road near Rosefield Drive at approximately 10:40 p.m. Wednesday for a report of traffic accident. Upon arrival, the officer observed a Black Saab 93 that had sustained disabling heavy front-end damage. The officer made contact with the male operator of the vehicle, a 47 year-old resident of Furlong. The officer detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, and asked if he needed medical attention. The driver declined. The driver was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center where he submitted to a blood draw for testing. Charges are pending the results of the blood work.

Tuesday, Oct. 2
A student of Council Rock High School North reported that she mistakenly left her cell phone with her lunchbox in a classroom around 11:45 a.m. and when she returned to retrieve her property around 2:15 p.m. the cell phone was no longer there. The victim stated that the phone was a Samsung Galaxy S3 is valued at approximately $500.
While on patrol in Helen Randle Park around 9 p.m. an officer found a black sports equipment bag in the parking lot. No one was in the area so the bag was brought back to headquarters for safe keeping in hopes that the owner of the bag will claim it.
Wednesday, Oct. 3
Shortly after 1 p.m., a resident of Second Street Pike reported that she hired a mover to move household items, but since she was unable to move in right away the items were put into storage. Within the past two weeks the movers have been delivering items to her new home, but she has been unable to locate some of her property. The victim further stated that the missing property includes her jewelry chests.
