The Council Rock School Board held a brief meeting Thursday that opened with a musical performance from students at Newtown Elementary School.

The following topics were discussed during the meeting:

• Some school board members will be holding “office hours” for residents before the start of the budget forum on May 16. Office hours will begin at 6 p.m. and will be a chance for residents to ask questions or express concerns. The budget forum starts at 7 p.m. 
• Superintendent Mark Klein announced that the proposed school calendar for 2012-2013, which was initially up for approval Thursday, would be considered at the next board meeting on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.
• The board also had a first read of revisions to its cyber bullying policy. The revisions comply with the Pennsylvania School Code and would define cyber bullying to include the use of social media.
