'Slumped Over' Man Prompts Police Response on St. Patrick's Day

Police were dispatched to the area of Crittenden Drive around 9:40 p.m. Friday for a complaint of teenagers being loud at the playground. The responding officer located six teens that were cooperative and agreed to leave the area without further incident.
At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to the 7-Eleven on Sycamore Street for a report of a male subject slumped over the steering wheel of a car in the in the parking lot. The responding officer made contact with the adult male and detected an odor of alcohol coming from him. A portable breath test was administered and provided a result under the legal limit to drive. The 57-year-old New Jersey man told police that he had called friends to pick him up at the location. The officer remained at the location until the subject and his vehicle were removed from the parking lot.
Shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday, an officer stopped a driver on the Newtown Bypass near Richboro Road after he witnessed the car make multiple violations. The driver, a 25-year-old Newtown Township woman, was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing. Charges are pending the results of the lab submission.
