Theft Reported Years After Incident

Police are working to recover several hundred dollars.

It's almost too strange to believe.

Newtown Township police are working to recover several hundred dollars that was alleged to be stolen at the Newtown 7-Eleven about two years ago.

The victim of the theft told police that she didn’t report details of the incident when it happened years ago because the people she suspected of taking cash from the console of her car were friends of a family member, police reported.

The amount of cash taken is estimated to be more than $600.

The woman, an Upper Makefield resident, reported the theft to police last Tuesday.

Newtown authorities told the woman that they would attempt to contact the subjects who she believes took the money and try to get her it back, police said.
