Tickets to Newtown Beerfest 2012 Available Sunday
Several different ticket packages to the Newtown Beerfest are available.
Newtown Beerfest 2012 will be held at South State Street's Stocking Works in Newtown Borough on the afternoon of Saturday, September 22, organizers recently announced.
Tickets for the festival, which is benefits the Newtown Fire Association, will go on sale Sunday morning at 10 a.m. on the Beerfest website. Tickets will also be available for purchase outside the Newtown Theater during the car show on Sunday.
The Clubhouse, Isaac Newton’s Restaurant, John’s Barber Shop and Triumph Brewing in New Hope are also selling tickets to the event.
Prices for tickets to Beefest vary. General admission tickets cost $40. Tickets to the 1st Tap pre-fest event cost $75. The fest also offers designated driver tickets that cost $10.
While the money raised goes to the fire association, the association last year donated some of the $100,000 gathered to Newtown Library, the Newtown Historic Association and into an account used for the beautification of the State Street business district in the borough.
“Everyone had a blast last year,” said Newtown Fire Association Chief Carl Forsyth in a statement. “We hope everyone comes back again this year to support us and the town.”
Last year, over 150 samplings of beer attracted nearly 3,000 people to Newtown Borough, according to the organizers.
For a more intimate tasting experience, organizers offer tickets to the 1st Tap session. The 1st Tap offers early entry to the event, access to rare and limited edition brews complimentary food and t-shirts.
During the general admission portion of Beerfest, live music and food from area restaurants will be offered.
Beerfest is one of two beer-related festivals held in Newtown. Every fall a Newtown Brewfest is typically held, as well.
