5. Coalition Forms to Stop Newtown Trailer ParkResidents of the following communities are involved in the effort to stop the trailer park: Headley, Newtown Walk, Wilkshire Walk, Kirkwood, Villas of Newtown and Raintree/Windermere.

4. School Board Approves 2013-2014 CalendarThe Council Rock School District last week approved the 2013-2014 school year calendar. The first day of school will be Tuesday, Sept. 3 for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as those in seventh and ninth grades.

3. Township GOP Seeking Potential Candidates for OfficeA screening meeting for potential candidates will be held Feb. 10 at the Temperance House.

1. Public Outcry Over Trailer Park Prompts Board to Approach DeveloperDespite the fact that the application for a 56-pad trailer park at the Newtown Swim Club site was not on the agenda, more than 150 residents attended the Wednesday meeting. Several took the opportunity to speak against the proposal during public comment.
