5. Supervisor Seeking Formal Support of State Prevailing Wage Reform
A push by Republicans in the state House of Representatives to reform prevailing wage laws is garnering support from local politicians. Newtown Township Board of Supervisors member Rob Ciervo said Wednesday he’d like to see the municipality express formal support for three prevailing wage reform bills that were considered during the last House session.
4. Four Township Police Officers Promoted to Corporals
Four Newtown Township Police Department officers were promoted to corporals during Wednesday's Board of Supervisors meeting.
3. Newtown Borough Hires New Solicitor
Newtown Borough has hired William Bolla of the Doylestown-based firm McNamara, Bolla and Panzer as borough solicitor. Bolla replaces Paul Cohen, who left his position as borough solicitor due to a scheduling conflict with a new opportunity at Shir Ami.

1. Stocking Works II Hearing Postponed Until Jan. 26
A conditional use hearing for the Stocking Works II proposal that began in December and was scheduled to resume Tuesday has been postponed until Jan. 26. The hearing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.
