Township Passes Budget, Taxes to Remain Flat for Residents
The tax millage for township residents will remain at 2.5 in 2013.
Municipal taxes for Newtown Township residents will remain flat in 2013.
The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Wednesday approved a $11 million budget.
The budget passed by a 3-2 vote with Phil Calabro and Rob Ciervo voting against it.
The tax millage for township residents will remain at 2.5 in 2013.
The budget leaves the municipality with approximately $820,000 in its fund balance. A large chunk of that fund balance -- $550,000 -- is the result of the planned sale of a township easement on a cellphone tower.
