Township Supervisors to Consider 2013 Budget Tonight

If passed as advertised, the $11 million budget will not increase municipal property taxes for residents.

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors tonight will consider approving a $11 million budget. The budget as advertised will not increase municipal property taxes for residents.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. Click here to view the full agenda.

If the budget is approved as drafted, the tax millage for township residents would remain at 2.5 in 2013.

Last month, the board voted to advertise a budget that was revised from a draft initially presented to the supervisors.

The $11 million budget presented on Nov. 14 would have left the township with about $36,000 in reserves.  The budget that will be considered tonight will leave the municipality with approximately $820,000 in its fund balance.

Does anyone know what decision was made about the Goodnoe renovation project/variances that was on the agenda last night?
