Trailer Park Ordinance, Qdoba on Planning Commission Agenda
The Newtown Township Planning Commission will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the township Administration Building.
The Newtown Township Planning Commission on Tuesday will consider an ordinance that would increase the amount of land needed to construct a mobile home park.
The Planning Commission will discuss an ordinance that would change the required acreage for a mobile home park from 15 to 25 acres.
But that ordinance, if approved, wouldn’t have an impact on the current proposal for a trailer park at the Newtown Swim Club.
The motivation behind the proposed ordinance “is to not have to face the threat of a mobile home park again,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Mike Gallagher said.
The commission will also consider two conditional use applications; one for Qdoba and another for Smoothie King.
Qdoba, a Mexican eatery, has applied for conditional use approval with Newtown Township to open a restaurant in the Village at Newtown West.
Smoothie King, a chain that serves an array of smoothies and health food products, has submitted a conditional use application to open a location in the Village at Newtown South.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the township Administration Building.
