Where/where: Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Tyler Park Center for the Arts, which is located in Tyler State Park
Why go: The two-day event will feature fine arts and crafts exhibitors, live entertainment, interactive family arts activities, demonstrations, local vendors, food and more.
Where/when: Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m., behind the Newtown Bicycle Shop at Greene and North State streets.
Why go: This event is aimed to educate the community about Newtown Common and its need for preservation. It will feature games, light refreshments and a group photo as part of the national "This Place Matters" campaign by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
