Weekend Planner: Feb. 4 and 5

A look at some fun events going on in the area this weekend.

 

 

It will be cool this weekend, but it will hardly feel like winter. Here are some ways to get out of the house and take advantage of a sunny first weekend in February.

IMPROV NIGHT

Where/when: The Zen Den, Doylestown, Friday at 8 p.m.

Why go: Sing a song, recite poetry, play music, crack some jokes. The only requirement is that all material be rated "E" for Everyone.

BOOK SIGNING BY LOCAL AUTHOR

Where/when: Doylestown Bookshop, Doylestown, Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Join Bucks County's own Dr. Lauren Nappen, author of the newly-released book "Wishing You" as she presents:  “Wishful Thinking…It’s worth the Risk”

Cost: Free

BOY SCOUT FLAPJACK BREAKFAST

Where/when: Applebees Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Upper Southampton, Saturday starting at 8 a.m.

Why go: Get your grub on and support Boy Scout Troop 400.

Cost: $8 

ROCK ON WITH THE EXCEPTIONS

Where/when: The Buck Hotel, Feasterville-Trevose, Friday at 9 p.m.

Why go: Take advantage of 30 years of experience getting crowds to enjoy themselves.

Cost: No cover

MODEL RAILROAD CLUB OPEN HOUSE

Where/when: 2066 2nd Street Pike, Richboro, Saturday starting at noon.

Why go: The Abington Lines Model RR Club Inc. presents an H.O. scale model railroad display. Operating trains, trolleys and narrow gauge, on a large permanent layout.
