Why bother continuing with community news? Hasn't Patch now "evolved" into a pathetic forum for mean spirited local political opinion and spamming my Facebook with 10 posts a day to drive traffic for more of the same? Why pretend to be anything more at this point?

I'm sorry you feel that way. I work each day to post local news and information. If there are specific issues you think we're neglecting that you'd like to see covered, please contact me directly at kara.seymour@patch.com. If the volume of Facebook posts is too much for you, you can always un-"like"

Kara... For example, just take a look at tonight's "what people are saying" comments above and below yours and mine. PG-13 language, people insulting each other directly etc. Toxicity dominates the site and when that's mixed with information about local craft fairs and Casper the Ghost it's like having Snow White guest starring in a Quentin Tarantino movie. The two just don't mix. I'm taking a break from the Patch until after the election. Maybe things will calm and maybe I will too :) Thank you for responding.
