Who's Newtown's Person of the Year?
TIME magazine named President Obama their person of the year for the second time. Tell us who you think should win from our town!
On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Obama their Person of the Year, again!
The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including the president, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle, Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi, and Apple CEO Tim Cook. But, the president took the title again four years after he first won the award as president-elect in 2008.
Who is Newtown's Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”?
Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Jim mccaffrey- he helped add diversity to the grocery store market. He also gives to the community. The store had a grand re-opening where they gave away 200 bags of free groceries to customers and other giveaways.

Dave Callahan, for all past years. While struggling to keep his business, Newtown Hardware, afloat, he never says no when his help is needed anywhere. The historic association, library, theater, other businesses, the Christmas tree & Santa house, lots of other things people don't know about because he's not a self promoter like many other people mentioned above. He's the best of Newtown.

Hands down Paul Salvatore. Besides the tireless work throughout the year, he celebrated 27 years of Christmas Dinner for the less fortunate.

Withouta doubt, John McGrath. He continues to owe communities he built millions of dollars in promised things, but claims he has no money while driving around in a new range rover....genius at work!
