It's no surprise that the winner of this week's Readers' Choice poll for best park in Newtown is Tyler State Park.

Tyler Park received 81 percent of the vote. Coming in a distant second with nine percent of the vote was Roberts Ridge Park in Newtown Township, which features a large playground that is popular with young children. 

Located off the Newtown Bypass, Tyler Park is a 1,700-acre property.

The park features trails for both walking, biking and horseback riding, as well as playgrounds, picnic areas, and canoe rentals. The park's disc golf course attracts players from throughout the region.

Visitors can also enjoy fishing and the pavilions, which have grills, are available for private rental.  

Tyler Park also won Best Park on Northampton Patch's poll.
