Zoes Kitchen Coming to Goodnoe's Corner

The Mediterranean-inspired restaurant will move into the space formerly occupied by Cosi.

Zoes Kitchen, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant chain, is coming to Newtown.

The restaurant will be setting up shop at Goodnoe's Corner in the space formerly occupied by Cosi, Peter Maggio told Patch Monday. Maggio is director of leasing and development for US Realty Associates, which manages Goodnoe's Corner.

According to its website, Zoes Kitchen serves "Mediterranean-inspired comfort food" that keeps customers' dietary concerns in mind. There's nothing fried and gluten-free and vegetarian options are plentiful, according to the website.

The menu features soups, salads, hummus, pitas, sandwiches, dinner entrees, a kids menu and more.

"Losing Cosi was a disappointment, however we viewed their vacancy as an opportunity to secure a restaurant whose fresh, health-conscious menu would be an even better fit for both Goodnoe's Corner and for Newtown," Maggio said. "Jules Thin Crust raised the bar with a healthy, organic alternative to pizza and we thought it only fitting to locate a concept like Zoe's Kitchen next door to them."

This will be the first Zoes Kitchen location in Pennsylvania. Other locations are presently operating in 12 states, including Virginia, Texas, Flordia and Arizona.

Just checked the web site for Zoes Kitchen, looks promising!

I agree that they look like a good complement for Jules Thin Crust, which is an excellent and unique take on pizza.

Everyone I've introduced to Jules has loved it. I hope I will be able to say the same for Zoes.

You can't call Jules T C a pizza. If you've had Delorenzos pies from Trenton. I've had Pizza from Naples to Milan and thats not Pizza. We don't need more fad food in Newtown, we need good Classical Cuisine.

Hey Voice, please leave your 3rd grade negative style comments to yourself. Jules is a local owned small business that Newtown craves.

Just because Jules is a locally owned business doesn't mean every one has to like it. Voicing your opinion isn't 3rd grade stuff. I wouldn't be speaking for all of Newtown just because you love it.

In response to Steven Bostancic, who said "Voicing your opinion isn't 3rd grade stuff":

If you reread vcalvanese's comment I think you'll see that the issue wasn't about voicing your opinion, but rather the childish, disrespectful style of the comment.

I trust we all support the right for people to voice their opinions here, even those we don't agree with.

Hey Paisan, when is short and sweet, 3rd grade stuff ? With a last name like yours you should know what good pizza is, but then maybe You grew up in the suburbs !

Heard great things about Zoes from friends in Texas. They love it and it is healthier food for those of us who prefer healthier options. Welcome to Goonoe Corner & Newtown Zoes!

I can't believe that I am responding to this, but I will try to clarify my comment since Christina Aguilera, aka The VOICE and Steven are having such a hard time interpreting what I thought was a simple statement. The article is about Zoes opening and mentions that it is going to be next to Jules. Steven, I never mentioned I loved Jules, I thought Christina's comments were adolescent to say the least. I have no problem with opinions, I have many. Unless I missed something in the article, it did not call for a third grade style opinion of the pizza.
As for you Christina, instead of stereotyping my last name ( also childish), why don't you focus on your show or putting out a new song!
I'm going to move on now, good luck Zoes!
