GOD is not in the Constitution. The democrats did not deny GOD. They denied a place in the platform, a place in government. GOD in government was part of the impetus for the Declaration of Independence. GOD belongs in the hearts of men and women, and that is where we know it is denied in the hearts of the republicans and the tea party members.

Henry Ford understood the worker was the buyer of his product. Without the consumer the business owner would not have a business. Fitzpatrick does not represent all of his constituents. He made that clear. He is trying to spin his words...but no, they are spoken and cannot be taken back.

The discussion on this page just shows how far American has fallen, that it is not possible to even have a logical discussion of the issues. Once you embrace the Tea Party, you have embraced an extreme point of view that is based on largely false assumptions that are not backed up by facts. False assumptions such as voter fraud exists (FALSE, less than 3000 over 10 years nation-wide, until the latest Republican hi jinks) or the 47% who don't pay income tax are spongers (tell that to active duty military and retirees!)

Annie thank your for your kind words. As you can see Rebecca is hysterical and illogical and irrational. Voter fraud was not an issue before the last election when all the tea party candidates and republican governors got elected. If fraud was so rampant perhaps fraud is how they got elected. But since then voter anger and regret has risen to a high crescendo and that is why there is such a push to create an obstacle for those who are the most likely to vote out republicans. We all know that. Be that as it may, the law is not dead, just put off till the next election which gives the state the time to create a means by which people will be able to comply.
Rebecca throws out a lot of numbers but does not address the news that republican attempts at fraud have been in the paper for days especially in Florida, a swing state.
As for religion in government, how many heads on spikes would it take to remind her of the persecutions and murders that took place under the crown in the name of God? God is not mentioned in the Constitution, for valid reason, and should not be in the platform of any political party seeking to control the legislation of the country. It belongs in the hearts of those who make the laws. We have lost 7000 American sons and daughters trying to free people from religious government. We must defend and protect the First Amendment.

Instead of employees empowerment we are going to enslave. Small limited government is extreme. Come on.

Small, limited government? The kind that legislates that you have to have an ultrasound? The kind that legislates that you can't have access to birth control? For all the call for "small limited government" clearly the republican tea hats have been calling for all kinds of limitations on the rights of women and calling for all kinds of nutty laws including trans vaginal ultra sounds for women who present for abortions. It was outrageous for any legislator to redefine rape for the purpose of medical care and even more for Fitzpatrick to agree. “Small limited government “ can be a disaster with tyrants running it. I don’t think Fitzpatrick would like any of his daughters to be subjected to that kind of interrogation in an emergency room if one of them is raped. A fertilized egg can take 3 days to implant, taking a hormone to prevent implant is not an abortion. As for birth control the crazy law in Arizona would have required women to reveal their most private medical business to their employers. NO ONE should know the medical business of any one. It should be between the woman and her doctor. If a doctor writes a script for a woman NO employer, or legislator or nosy neighbor should have any right to know or to give approval. This goes against all the precepts of freedom and privacy. Clearly the legislators are clueless about womens reproductive system. Not Annie.
Rebecca does not want to pay for anyones birth control, we should not have to pay for her shock treatments.

Since Fitzpatrick signs the back of our paycheck while passing bills against us, he needs to return our tax dollars for a bad job evaluation.

This "signing the back of the paycheck" remark of Fitzpatrick's reveals how he really feels about those who work for a living: Wealthy business owners are entitled to all kinds of breaks - tax and regulatory - to help them build their wealth on the backs of those who do the work. Last night I watched Sheila Bair, former head of the FDIC, talk about her book "Taking the Bull by the Horns" on Tavis Smiley.. She made it very clear that it is this attitude of "entitlement" by the super-wealthy was a major factor in the collapse of our economy. Let's not go BACKWARDS to that kind of thinking. Kathy Bookvar is strong, fresh, new, smart, and will work to solve problems in a way that will benefit ALL of her constituents.

Again, Rebecca, Faithwalk/ Pennsburymom is irrational and putting words in my mouth. PAY ATTENTION. I did not say voter fraud was fabricated. I said it was not an issue in the previous election. The very election where all the nut cases got elected. I also said if it was so prevalent maybe that is how the nut cases got elected.
Go back and read what I said. I also asked why there is no concern on your part for the news the last few days about attempts at voter fraud by republicans most especially in Florida. I never said anything about Maryland being swing state, I referred to Florida.

refers to the facebook page "Who is Kathy Boockvar" and says the words there are Kathy's. Well they are not. That is a republican page designed to explain who she is but it is all bigoted rhetoric. Words written by republican committeeman. There is another page that is called "Radical Kathy" which also was created by republican operatives and attempted to make it appear that Kathy was writing the comments. They dared to call it "satire". It was not satire when they wrote about her fund raiser at a club in New Hope implying particular sex acts were part of it, and people should vote for her because she has "no gag reflex". That caused a firestorm, and it was taken down but our fine upstanding congressman would not say it was wrong. I submit Rebecca is not capable of critical thinking and cannot comprehend what she reads. And if she moved out of the state as she claimed on Phllyburbs why does she care what happens in Pa?

Lastly, Boockvar never defended a terrorist. She was a kid when his trial took place. The fitzpatrick campaign tried to tie her to a cop killer but failed because she had nothing to do with him or his appeals and neither did her husband. Accusations proven false. In fact, today she saId if he had been exedcuted she would have considered it justice. People like Rebecca are like the old washer women who gossiped about other people adding to the false stories until they caused great harm. She should be ashamed to believe what she reads without fact checking.

Wow I would have thought that saying that someone is mentally incompetent and has shock treatments would be inappropriate.

As a senior and a woman, I'm Voting for Kathy Boockvar for women's rights, protection of medicare, unions for fair wage to all workers, jobs, and the middle class. I am the 99% and will Occupy and castrate the republican Party at the polls by voting for Obama and straight Democratic Party for a blue takeover.

The Taliban is what results when the two combine. The founding fathers of the US were explicitly clear about this. I guarantee you that there as many Christian Democrats as there are Republicans, and more of the Democrats will actually be living the way Christ calls us to live.

And once again Pennsburymom doesn't get it. Her judgmental gossip and proselytizing is inappropriate. Links to accusations are not facts. The source is a republican committeman who gets a paycheck to slime Boockvar. Christs call to a way to live can be found in the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes, not in the republican play book. Franklin Graham is not God, not even close.

Its time to end the tax exempt status of self absorbed preachers like EW Jackson who are hateful and want to divide people. A true man of God would be trying to reconcile and reform...not condemn.

Why yes I am elle. I am in my 7th decade. After paying into social security for 45 years I am receiving my retirement benefit on which I pay income tax so I am still contributing to the support of the program and the country I love and which my grandsons are proudly serving in the military. Any more questions?

@Susan Gibbons I know how I feel inside and you are entitled to feel how you feel as well ! I am old enough to be you child so out of respect for someone who worked long enough to receive social security and with Grandsons in the Military all I can say to you is God Bless and enjoy your well deserved retirement and God Bless your Grandson's and may they come home safely to their families .
