Ten teenagers were cited with underage drinking after a wild Saturday night in Wrightstown Township. Officers were dispatched at 9 p.m. on Saturday to the area of Durham Road and Pine Lane after authorities received a report that several juveniles were throwing glass bottles at passing motorists, police said. Two teenage girls from Levittown were involved in a fiery car wreck at Tyler State Park last week. The girls are suspected of being drunk at the time. The driver, a 19-year-old female, and the lone passenger, a 16-year-old female, appeared intoxicated and gave the emergency workers a hard time in the moments after the crash, police said. The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Newtown Township Police Department will be giving locals another opportunity to rid their medicine cabinets of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, residents can drop off their unwanted drugs at the parking lot of the township building, police said. The event is part of the National Drug Take-Back Day. The event started several years ago and has grown every year since. Newtown police responded to a trashy call behind the Village at Newtown South Shopping Center on Friday. Officers received word that trash dumpsters behind the shopping center had been overturned at 8:50 p.m. A caller reported that several youths were seen in the area just before the incident, police said. Police arrested 8 people as part of a sobriety checkpoint held on the Newtown Bypass on Friday, August 31. Of the 8 people arrested for DUI, 2 were related to drugs, police said. The checkpoint was held on the Bypass between State Street and Buck Road. Patch user B. The home was broken into between 7 and 10 p.m. last Friday through a screen that was pryed off a second-floor back window, according to an email sent to residents of the development.
