Prison officials and experts will speak about the corrections system and changes in the penal programs and policies that have occurred during the past 10 years at Holy Family University-Newtown as part of "Corrections in the 21st Century."
The event, sponsored by the university's graduate criminal justice program, is a symposium highlighting changes in the state and municipal penal system.
The symposium will be held at Holy Family University-Newtown, One Campus Drive (off the Route 332 bypass) in Newtown. The program is open to the community and is free of charge. Lunch will be provided.
Presenters include:
- Louis Giorla, Commissioner of the Philadelphia Prison System
- Michele Farrell, Warden of the Philadelphia Prison System House of Correction
- John F. Corr, Deputy Director for the Bucks County Youth Center Program
- Carlton Payne. PhD, Chief Psychologist for the Philadelphia Prison System

More About Holy Family College
The Newtown location of Holy Family College is located on 79 acres of beautiful farmland. This location contains an administrative service area, faculty offices, the Center for Graduate Programs in Counseling Psychology, ten classrooms and laboratories including two mixed-use labs, a science lab, a nursing lab, the Learning Resource Center, chapel, student services office, and a commons dining area.
