Newtown Historic Association presents
“Lincoln's Assassins”
The November meeting of the Newtown Historic Association will be held on Monday, November 19th at 8:00 PM at the Half-Moon Inn, Court St. & Centre Ave., Newtown.
The Newtown Historic Association has invited Hugh Boyle, the Executive Director of the Grand Army of the Republic Museum & Library in Philadelphia, to give a lecture on Lincoln’s Assassins. This lecture will examine the men who were part of the conspiracy to kill Abraham Lincoln, William Seward and Andrew Johnson, on April 14th, 1865.
Who were they and why did they do it and what justice did they receive?
Mr. Boyle is also President of the Delaware Valley Civil War Round Table. He is the former publisher and book review editor of the Civil War Brigadier newspaper. He serves as an instructor at the Civil War Institute of Manor College, where he gives classes on the Life of Abraham Lincoln and his assassination. He also teaches classes on other civil war topics. He has lectured to historical societies, museums, schools and at seminars and symposia on Abraham Lincoln and has appeared on Public Television lecturing on Lincoln's Assassins.
The public is invited and refreshments will be served. This will prove to be a very interesting and informative meeting. For further information call 215-968-3914 or visit the NHA Website www.newtownhistoric.org.
