Lucretia Mott, Quaker abolitionist and suffragette along with John and Abigail Adams will be portrayed by reenactors featuring the important events of the period. Lucretia Mott originally spoke at the Newtown Theatre in June 1855. Also the choirs of the St. Mark's AME Church and Macedonia Baptist Church will be performing a medley of favorites. Come out and join us and learn some interesting facts of the period. This program is jointly sponsored by the Newtown Historic Association and the Newtown Library Company.

Newtown Theatre is one the nation's oldest movie theatres. It is located in the heart of Newtown Borough on State Street and screens modern movies in a facility with plenty of old-time charm. Movie genres range from children's films, to comedies, drama, action and more. In addition to movies, the Newtown Arts Company performs plays at the theatre.
