Candlelight Ceremony for Sept. 11 Victims: Wednesday in Newtown

Here's a look at what's happening Wednesday, Sept. 11 in Newtown:

  • It's the 12th anniversary since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. 
  • There is a candlelight ceremony honoring Sept. 11 victims at the Garden of Reflection at 7 p.m. The ceremony will include representation from surviving friends and family members, police and fire, airline pilots, flight attendants and members of the armed forces. The Garden of Reflection is located at 1950 Woodside Rd in Lower Makefield Township.
  • Wednesday is going to be hot. According to weather.com, highs will hit 91 degrees. 
  • The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will meet Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The board will discuss the proposal for townhomes at the Newtown Swim Club site. Additionally, many residents are expected to attend the meeting to voice their opposition to a proposal for a sewage treatment plant off the Newtown Bypass.
