Trick-or-Treating, Halloween Festivities at McCaffrey's

A look at the day ahead in Newtown.

Happy Halloween! Here's a look at what's going on around Newtown on Thursday, Oct. 31:

  • Before you head out to trick-or-treat for the night, bring the kids by McCaffrey's between 1 and 5 p.m. The supermarket will be holding a Halloween event featuring trick-or-treating throughout the store, a costume contest and prizes. Children should come dressed in costume.
  • Need a last-minute costume? Check out these easy and fun ideas.
  • If you're worried the kids won't eat a proper dinner before the festivities begin, we have some good recipe suggestions to try.
  • In case you were going to celebrate Halloween by going to a movie, don't head to the Newtown Theatre. The local theatre is closed until 2014 as it installs a new digital projector system.
  • Want a nice family photo for the holiday card? Schedule your appointment for the Newtown Township Parks and Recreation's photo sessions this weekend.
