Camille Schrier will compete for USA Ambassador National title.

Newtown area native will move on to national competition. 18-year-old Newtown area native Camille Schrier was named Miss Pennsylvania USA Ambassador Teen 2013 at the preliminary state competition of the USA Ambassador organization, held at the Ramada Conference Center in Altoona, PA. The contestants were scored in four categories. An individual interview with judges comprised 35% of the score, onstage chat 15%, with evening gown 25% and fashion wear 25% as the remaining categories scored to determine the winner. In addition to the overall state title, Camille also won the optional Best in Class, Photogenic, Fit & Fabulous, Community Service and Runway competitions, and was awarded both the Director’s Choice and Friendship awards. “The USA Ambassador system is a charity driven organization with a mission to promote success through leadership, integrity, character and confidence,” says Ms. Schrier, “and pageantry is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in important life skills such as being interviewed and presenting yourself with poise and confidence in a business setting.” Exemplifying the mission of the USA Ambassador system, Camille is a June 2013 high honors graduate of The Hun School of Princeton where she enjoyed the challenges of an academically rigorous curriculum, and at commencement was honored with the prestigious Robert Strianese Memoral Award. She was also named to the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Prep All Academic Team for excellence in academics and track, and further achieved the President’s Award for Educational Excellence for outstanding academic excellence. Camille will matriculate this fall to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor to pursue a degree in chemical engineering. Camille served as President of the Student Government, President of the Young Alumni Association, Captain of the Track & Field team, Leader for Girls Learn International, Lead Guide for the Red Shield Society, and has been a member of the varsity field hockey and swimming teams. Outside of school, Camille serves her community as a volunteer for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, is a certified American Red Cross lifeguard, and enjoys equestrian sports, photography, gardening and participating annually in the Middletown Grange Fair. She is saving money for college and a car through her work as a part time administrative assistant for a local business. Camille will represent The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in August 2013 at the national USA Ambassador competition to be held at the Innisbrook Golf Resort in Tampa, Florida where she will compete to win cash and other prizes. To date, the U.S.A. Ambassador Pageant system has donated to over 20 different charity organizations across the country and continues to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, which serves as their National Charity Beneficiary.
