Friends of Washington Crossing Park Hire Executive Director
Joseph Capone was recently named Executive Director/Business Manager for the non-profit Friends of Washington Crossing Park. In this position he will oversee a variety of areas, including daily operations, policies and procedures, fundraising, volunteer management, and human resources.
Prior to joining the Friends, Capone was general manager of The Princeton Festival, a four-week performing arts festival in Princeton, NJ. He has also served as development director of Bristol Riverside Theatre, associate director of development for the Opera Company of Philadelphia, and associate director of alumni relations at Westminster Choir College of Rider University.
“I am thrilled to be joining a great team of people who are passionate about and really love Washington Crossing Historic Park,” says Capone. “The park is a national treasure and it is my goal to increase awareness of it and provide a first-class experience for our guests.”

Since its founding in 2009, the Friends of Washington Crossing Park has helped reopen the park for guided interpretive tours and educational programming. The group’s mission is to pursue and create fundraising, membership and volunteer opportunities. In July 2010, the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission signed a partnership agreement with the Friends, who now assist in the operation of the park.
