Community Corner

George School Community Chorus Starts 9/8

The George School Community Chorus, directed by Jackie Coren, will begin rehearsals for another season this fall on Sunday, September 8, 2013. The season will culminate with a concert on Sunday, February 23, 2014 featuring “A Ceremony of Carols,” by Benjamin Britten.

In addition to “A Ceremony of Carols,” for chorus and harp, several shorter pieces will also be rehearsed and performed.

The Community Chorus is open to all, without audition. The only requirement is an interest in singing and a willingness to participate in weekly Sunday evening rehearsals.

“Everyone is invited to participate in the Community Chorus, regardless of musical background or experience,” said Jackie. “You don’t even have to be able to read music. I will provide audio files of individual parts to help people learn the music and we’ll make beautiful music together!”
