GNEC Inducts Three Members at May Meeting

The Greater Newtown Exchange Club is a Bucks County service club dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and family services.

The May 8 meeting of the Greater Newtown Exchange Club (GNEC) was as exciting as it was busy. The meeting kicked off with the induction of three new GNEC members; Brian Rabberman, Dan Myers and Elizabeth Soucar, all of whom are Newtown residents. The photo taken at the event shows (from left to right) GNEC president Scott Harp awarding membership certificates to Rabberman, Myers and Soucar.

Rabberman has worked for The First National Bank of Newtown since 2007 and has been the Assistant Branch Manager of the Main Office since February 2013. Rabberman lives in Newtown with his wife Jenna and in his free time likes to golf, fish and spend time with his family.

Myers recently retired as director of finance from HM Royal Inc. in Trenton New Jersey. He and wife Karen live in Newtown and enjoy spending time with their son, daughter in law and three grandchildren.

After the new member induction, Doctor Paula Seth took center stage as GNEC’s guest speaker. Dr. Seth has been with Mercer Bucks Cardiology since 2006 and she is one of the co-founders and directors of the Mercer Bucks Cardiology Women’s Health Program.

Dr. Seth spoke on women’s heart health issues, offering up-to-date information on both treatment and prevention. Of particular interest were her comments on the new, highly controversial, statin guidelines which, if followed, could put millions more Americans on high dose statins. Dr. Seth explained that there were degrees of latitude in interpreting the guidelines and suggested that individuals consult with their physicians to determine their actual dosages.
