Mike Dougherty Productions is proud to partner with The Green Parrot Restaurant Pub & Patio, 240 N. Sycamore St.,  to present Open Mic Wednesdays, which kicked off last month.

A stand-out group at Green Parrot Open Mic Wednesdays has been the Newtown teen band Damage Control, featuring brothers Nick Fioravanti, 14, (St. Andrews School), David Fioravanti, 19, (Bucks County Community College), Joe Molnar, 15, (Council Rock North), Kyle Maliszewski, 20, (Bucks County Community College), and Christina Sicalides, 16, (Council Rock North). http://www.damagectrlband.com/

Each week audience members choose the winners, who are awarded the opportunity for a paid performance on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Nationally touring comedian Joey Callahan, seen on Comedy Central, ESPN’s Lighter Side of Sports and Fox TV , will headline the April 30 show.

All talent is welcome at Open Mic Wednesdays – singer, songwriter, cover or comedy. Prepare for three songs or 10 to 15 minutes. The number of songs will vary depending on the number of contestants.  Sign-ups are at 7:30 p.m. with show time at 8 p.m.

Located at 240 N. Sycamore St. in historic Newtown Township, the Green Parrot Restaurant, Pub and Patio serves new American cuisine with an Irish flair and has been named the Bucks Happening 2013 Spot for Singles, Sports Bar Finalist, Irish Pub Finalist and People Watching Pub.

Open Mic nights will feature plenty of drink specials and $6 appetizers. For more information on the Green Parrot Restaurant Pub & Patio, visit http://www.greenparrotrestaurant.com/
