The Rose Group Participates in Now National Campaign Fundraiser for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) has grown from the front yard of 4-year old cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott in 2000 to become one of the nation’s leading philanthropic organizations fighting childhood cancer.

This year marks the ninth consecutive year that franchisees have supported ALSF in their quest to cure pediatric cancer. Applebee’s is thrilled to announce a record $500,000 in fundraising proceeds generated in 2012 and more than $3.2 million raised since 2005.

The Rose Group was one of the first Applebee’s franchisees to partner with ALSF in 2005 alongside their franchisee neighbor Apple American Group.  The two companies raised $166,000 during the first year by selling cups of lemonade and paper lemons.

This year, more than 700 restaurants nationwide, including The Rose Group’s 58 restaurants in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware, will contribute to the effort to help cure pediatric cancer.  Participating restaurants hope to reach their goal of surpassing the $5 million mark in funds raised.

The Rose Group will raise funds throughout July in support of ALSF by donating a portion of the sale of each lemonade (all varieties) through their Summer Squeeze® promotion.  When Applebee’s guests donate $5 to ALSF, they will receive a coupon for a free kids meal or frozen lemonade during their next visit at participating restaurants.  Additionally, each participating Applebee’s will host various events, such as lemonade stands, golf tournaments, donation nights and more.

“The Rose Group is proud to have been among the 1st franchisees to help raise awareness for ALSF in this 9th consecutive year.  We hope to surpass last year’s fundraising total of $500,000,” said Jeff Warden, CEO of The Rose Group. “Everyone’s lives have been affected by cancer in some way and we hope to make this year’s fundraiser the best yet.”
