August 22: Local on Voter ID, Police Get New Sign & Michael Strahan

Essential information about the day ahead in Newtown.

1. Newtown Area Republican Committee member Mick Petrucci responded to Patch's request for his view on the recent with the following words: "This new law should not be taken as a Republican vs. Democrat battle or vice versa, you need to show proof of ID when you do many things and this new step in voting is just a small step towards getting your vote in on election day. Personally, I do not see what the big deal is in showing your photo ID as proof of residency. For the most part, with a couple exceptions, the primary trial run was a success and the overwhelming majority knew about the new law and excepted it." What's your take on the ID law?
