Newtown Borough was once again named a Tree City during its annual Arbor Day celebration Friday.
The event, organized by Newtown Borough’s Rec Board, marked the 30th year the borough has received the designation from the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The program included a crowd favorite, musician Richard McLaughlin, known as Eco-Man. Each year, he provides an interactive music program that teaches children about the importance of caring for the environment.
Community organizations, including Tyler State Park and Snipes Farm, attended and offered activities related to trees and wildlife.
